To put it mildly, YES!!!! :-)
The Apple III's operating system (SOS) uses the same file system as
ProDOS. Any Apple II program that can copy files from a ProDOS disk
will also be able to copy files from a SOS disk.
The only possible hitch is doing something useful with the files (e.g.
a SOS application can be copied, but will not run on an Apple II).

Assuming AppleWriter /// is very similar to AppleWriter // (which is
highly likely), they should be simple text files that can be read in
any Apple II text editor or word processor. Formatting options (dot
commands) will appear as normal text and will have to be converted by
hand for other word processors.
Check the filetype of the AppleWriter files - they might be listed as
an Apple /// file type (e.g. $0B, Word Processor File). If so, it may
be necessary to use a file type change utility to make it a text file.
