Actually, since the batteries for both versions of the //gs are somewhat
standard 3.6v lithiums, finding a replacement wont be that hard. I got the
new battery for my ROM 01 from Fry's electronics for about $4. They are also
available from Newark, JDR and several other places. If you are queazy about
soldering on your //gs' motherboard then just cut the old battery's leads
close to the old battery and solder the new battery (or use crimp connectors)
to the old leads. The batteries for the ROM 03 are, I think, the same as for
compact Macs.
