Need help with IIe emulator card in LC

I have a Macintosh LC (original, no Roman numeral) and a IIe emulator
card for it (again, a very early one).

Since the IIe emulator did not support using a hard disk, I gradually
quit using it at all. Recently someone told me that more modern
software supports using a hard disk. So I found and downloaded the
latest version of the IIe emulator, but I don't know how to use it.
The (extremely minimal) documentation that came with it makes a
passing reference to Chapter 4 of the manual; my manual for the IIe
card has only three chapters.

I've been poking around Apple's WWW site, but didn't find much. (I
did find instructions for partitioning a hard drive to install a
ProDOS partition, but (1) I don't know if ProDOS is what I need -- I
think that came about after the time I used an Apple II, and most of
my software is pretty darned old, and (2) the hard disk I would want
to use is not manufactured by Apple, so their partitioner won't work
on it -- I wonder if the APS software lets me create a ProDOS
partition? Hmmm... have to remember to look at it tonight.)

Anyway, I think I need all the help I can get. If anyone knows of
any on-line documentation for using a hard drive with the IIe card,
PLEASE give me a pointer to it! Or if not that, any kind of help
would be welcome. Anyone have a manual they want to sell (cheap)?
Or could someone just tell me how?!?
