You can hook up virtually any SCSI hard drive to a //e provided that
it's not one of those "SCSI HDs on a card for the IBM" types, which
would be a waste of a slot unless you're an electronics wizard. All you
need is the Apple SCSI card Rev C, Apple Hi-Speed SCSI card, or RAMFast
Rev C card. The last one is the best.

Yes, this is true. Altho some people have managed to get a RAMFast Rev
D card to work just fine on their //e, most people find it an unworkable
combination. Go Rev C for the //e, Rev D for the //gs.

Or just buy one off the newsgroup. They're always being sold.

Don't pay that much! Heck, new, I paid $70 for a SCSI Rev C, and that
was 5 years ago. Just last year I got a hispeed SCSI card for $30.
I've seen RAMFasts go for under $100 (although I always seem to arrive
too late to snap 'em up and it doesn't happen much). No need to cut off
your jewels - just watch the net!
