I was merely passing along info that I got when I was setting up a switch 
box system.  I connected a GS and 2 //c's to an IW II with a 4-position 
switchbox.  One of the //c's was about 25' away.  Someone told me that 
was about the limit for reliable serial connections, but I have no 
technical data to back that up.  All I know is that 25' worked fine for 
me and I never had the need to go any farther.  BTW, I got a couple of 
GS's to replace the //c's and now have it all LocalTalk'd together.
