Well, it popped up on my cco mirror late last night, and I put it
on autopilot and watched the whole thing through, both disks. It seemed
kind of short for two disks, but hey. Overall impression? Cool. Some nice
effects, *awesome* graphics, and a set of great soundtracks.
[if you haven't watched the demo yet, don't read past this line. hit n :]
Some things that struck my eye were the dot demo section, which was
a nice effect, along with the moire/text interludes. Nice :) The intro was
cool, since the music was "choreographed" to go along with the spinning
thingies and the star scrollers. The real/unreal thing I guess is pretty much
standard for demos these days (Hello, Mr. Z?), and the BBS thing was like
the task force computer combined with the bouncing inferno bouncy text
thing, but more impressive since it had the "window" effect.
But, down to business. Vaultage. Precalculated? I think so. It
would've been alot more impressive if the demo-watcher could have moved
with their mouse to prove that it was an actual wolf3d sim, not just a
bunch of frames slapped onto the screen ^_^
Anyway, I liked it. It's a good shot in the arm for a faltering
GS demo/game/graphic development community. I've watched it at least 4 or
5 times now :)
Oh, Patty...
