Re: "Monitor II" questions
(Monitor ][ has a tilted display...)
Most monitors and TV sets, including the Monitor ][, have alignment
magnets attached to the back of the picture tube, which provide a means of
adjusting the precise angle of the electron beam. Hmmm...I believe these
are the rings around the back of the tube. There may be a set-screw to
loosen, then the rings can be rotated to straighten up the image.
Unfortunately, I don't know how safe it is to do this, but at least it is
a start.
Oh, and about 8 months ago, my Monitor ][ died on me. As it warmed up,
the display collapsed into a horizontal line. With a can of freeze spray,
I was able to trace the problem to a power supply regulator. So be aware,
Monitor ][ owners, that could happen to you. But the fix is fairly cheap 8-)
