The IIe enhancement and 128k memory are separate features - you can
have an unenhanced IIe with 64k or 128k, ditto for an enhanced IIe.

The enhancement consists of the processor (65C02 vs 6502), CD and EF
ROMs (Applesoft, monitor, 80-column firmware, diagnostics) and the
video ROM.

Only AppleWorks 5.0 requires an enhanced IIe (and more than 128k RAM).
AppleWorks 3.0 through 4.x require 128k but will run on an unenhanced
IIe.

How wide are the stripes? Are they regularly spaced, and the same
width as 80-column characters? (Does anyone know if King's Quest tries
to use double hi-res graphics mode?)

Can you run other graphics programs (single hi-res and double hi-res)
without problems?
