I've saved your post to let it digest for a bit and to ask a few
folks. We do a LOT of different sorts of data acquisition and control
with Apple IIs (including IIe's) in part because it's such a simple
and versatile platform that's ideally suited to such tasks. I'll get
back to you ASAP after I dig up a few things.
