No, I haven't gotten FAXination to work at all :(

  Setup: Rom3 + 4Meg QRamGS, ZipGS 8/64, Apple HS SCSI w/ Quantum LPS105Meg,
LineLink 144e on GS modem port.

          System 6.0.1, Apple inits, IR2, Pointless 2.03, Signature/
Phantasm etc.; NDAs include Shadowwrite, ShowMe, etc.

Oops, I lied. Parts of FAXination do work. I wrote a test message
with Shadowwrite. Printed to Faxdriver, which converted fine. View
Fax option worked from sendfax. That much worked.

Actually sending the FAX didn't work. I tried 6-7 times. 3-4 times I
got a modem init error message and the system was locked up. Had to reboot.
The other 3 times, the modem actually did connect. But each time stopped
with an unrecoverable error message. I tried with and without a cover
page. The testing session lasted about 30 minutes and I was trying to
connect to a HP Fax200 machine in my office.

I couldn't predict when the modem would be initialized or not, except that
the CD light would go OUT if I would eventually get an init; otherwise
the CD light would stay on and I would get a error message. ???

I haven't tried receiving a FAX yet.

My big gripe at the moment is that FAXination appears to be messing up
ProDOS (p8) programs. The machine hangs with a blank screen whenvever I
quit a p8 application like appleworks v5, Proterm v3.1, davex, etc. I
use a 8bit program selector called 'Program Selector v3.3beta' by TC Wilson.
the apple-G command to 'go to GSOS' causes the machine to bomb into the
monitor. Shift-booting works fine. Installing FAXination is the only
system change I have made, so I'm pretty sure it is FAXination that is
causing the p8 problem. I haven't actually de-installed the FAXination
software yet to know the system will return to being stable.

At this point I think FAXination is very buggy, and is totally useless
on my system. I am going to remove it. Since I ordered it by phone
and credit card, I intend to ask to credit card company to remove the
charge until such time as Vitesse ships a usable product. At this time
I'm not planning on asking for a refund. The product is 'close', but
not good enough to be released yet. They must have used a very adept
group of beta-testers who could make FAXination work. I suspect there
are a lot of conflicts with the various system inits etc. and it will
take a lot of fiddling to make a system work OK. Maybe I'm too
paranoid. Maybe one little fix and everything will go together
smoothly. Some updates have been promised for early March. I'll try
again then.

Anyone have any success stories?
