This is a falsehood! NetScape can be used on a Macintosh using a dial-up
shell account, if you have the appropriate software. By using a UNIX
program named TIA (the internet adapter) to simulate a SLIP connection
(PPP is coming in the next version), your Mac can explore many new facets
of the internet. TIA is a commercial program which sells for $25.
The software which you will need for your Mac is MacTCP (available with
System 7.5) and an interface program named InterSLIP (freeware). These
softwares will communicate with your dial-up shell account which is
executing the TIA program.
As this topic is shifting away from the Apple II, more detailed
information can be located in comp.sys.mac.comm.
I have no association with any of the software companies which created
the above goods, I am only an impressed user.
When GS/TCP is released, everyone should buy GNO. If you already own
GNO, then you should buy a copy for a friend.
