You are right. As a Second Sight fan, I do agree this is odd. SS originally
planned for only 256 colors ONLY. At least TR give the ability to display
the image in >256 colors. btw, the palette switching is hardware based, so
you don't need weird programming like the 3200 mode.

I will go for Second Sight too. But I do not agree all the points with you.
TR should have more bundled software than SS. Unless ISV starts programming
for SS, it is hard to say that it will be the emerging standard.
