I've just installed a RamFAST SCSI card in my gs and am having a
problem. I have a GS ROM 01 with an AE Sonic Blaster card in slot #1, a
PC Transporter card in slot #6, my RamFAST in slot #7, and a Sequential
Systems 4meg RAM card in my aux slot. My question is this; when I boot
up my computer (after it's been sitting off all night), my hard drive
starts to spin, then I get the message about the RamFAST looking for the
device, then it boots and everything seems to be running okay. But then
after my desktop is showing, my hard drive will stop spinning for about
a second and then re-boots. I thought it might be a power problem, so I
removed all the other cards except for the RamFAST and RAM card, but it
still does it.....and only when first booting. The H/D is still geting
power (the power light never goes out), and it doesn't effect my desktop
at all. The outlet it's plugged into has it's own breaker (no problems
there) and I usually take the cover off while I'm using it (therefore,
not a heat problem). Anyone have any ideas? Could it be a faulty power
supply for the hard drive? The hard drive itself is a Maxtor 120meg and
has no bad blocks, and never sticks, if that helps.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Rob.
