  I was probably a bit hasty, but I have more information now. The
Bt481 we can get in good quantity and at a price about half what we
were able to get the Bt478 for.

  The Bt481 is just like the 478, except that the Bt481 supports
TrueColor - i.e., actual honest-to-God 24-bit pixels. It also
support 15-bit (5-5-5) and 16-bit (5-6-5) "HighColor" modes;
these are similar to TrueColor, in that each pixel directly translates
into RGB signals, instead of going through a palette, but have
fewer bits per channel.

  So, the Second Sight will take care of people's video needs
well into the next century, it looks like. :-)

 (Maximum resolution of 640x480 at 16.7M, or TrueColor, mode).
