No, of course, if you are distributing your macros this is the
only way to have things set up.  That's the way I would do it too,
and exactly why I used curly brackets around the "rtn"s instead of
outright deleting them in the source code.  And now I'm glad I
did.  With AppleWorks 5.0 I'
I know it's been a while since you left your message.  I haven't been
able to get on-line for some time.  But if no one else has answered,
it might still be of use.

David may be right about the control panal, or sort of.  How many
disk volumes do you have on line?  AppleWorks is the jealous one.  If
you have enough so that ProDOS 8 is mapping one of them into the same
slot that your interface card is in, AW3 will refuse to have anything
to do with that slot, ie. it will not print!  There is a patch around
somewhere to take care of this but I don't remember any more where.
Could be part of John Link's SuperPatch package.

I hadn't even thought of this problem for yonks.  It was clearly not
a problem in AW4 or AW5.

Another thing you might try is to use an older version of ProDOS 8
which does not do any drive remapping (and so will only recognise
drives in slots 5 and 6.)
