The AE High Density Drive (the one with the GCR and MFM capability)
doesn't have the locking up problem.  My AEHD drives runs just as
reliably as my friend's Apple HD drive.

While on the topic of AE HD drives, I'm using the Apple 3.5 driver
with my AEHD drive.  If you have the AE drive that uses 1600k disks,
then you will need the AE 3.5 driver.
