I think it's a part of the PC Exchange and Mac Easy Open control panels.
These have come bundled with System 7.5 for the Mac and were avaiable before
then. With these two goodies installed (and I think it's PC Exchange that's
letting the Mac recognize the ProDos disks, Mac Easy Open does some of the
translation that AFE used to do), you can even format a disk in
MSDos or ProDos on the Mac. Pretty neat, it only took the Mac two or three
years to catch up to the IIGS ;-)
