VOC Screen FIX!!!
Hello in netland...Well, to my dismay this eveing, I was prepping one
of my other GS's into a tv station.... Yup, moved my beloved VOC from
my main GS to the spare in the bedroom... Don't need two monitors in the
bedroom anyways...
To make a long story short. On firing up the VOC inthe other computer, I got
the dreaded screen left shift problem!!! Ack... I put it back in the main
GS and put a video signal to it( Hasn't been used with a video signal in like
3 months) But tried it anyways... Still screen about 1 and 1/2 inches off
the left side of the screen.... I figured that the card was shot and since
the word is that this can't be fixed I decided to "Play"
I FOUND the FIX!!!!! To adjust your GS video back to center or even the other
way further do thiss.
WARNING!!!! DO SO at YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!!
The culprit is the CAP 15 marked turnable capacitor I guess....
Didn't know you could make an adjustable cap.. But it is
the potentiometer looking thing that is labeld C15 on the VOC main board.
It is located in the middle closest to the back of the machine board....
Well turn that little bugger clocwise and the screen moves to the right.
Works like a charm now. And if you want to move it back to the right even
further you can... But I have mine centered nicely now.
NOTE USE a plastic screwdriver to do this.... I didn't and boy did
it throw a fit. I made the adjustment later with a piece of plastic
cut to the size I needed to spin the dial thing.. I also made this adjustment
"LIVE"
Do the above at your own risk!!!!
But c15 is the one you want to adjust!
Anyone know what C2 does??? This was my first adjustmetn but it hasn't
done anything as I can tell.... Yet..... :)
Enjoy and tell me what happens if you try this at home!
