I need a new modem

Hi. I'm new here and am currently connecting with a Global Teleport Bronze
at 2400 on my Mac Performa 475. Obviously, this is pretty slow and i need
to upgrade right away soon. Being fairly ignorant about modems, i could use
some help on what i should purchase that would do a good job for me. i plan
on connecting to the Internet.Thanks for any help you can give me.
