It could be a number of things.  I used to have rev. D, 3.0h, Maxtor 
LXT-213-S, and Wangtek 6250.  It streamed fine.  Then the HD became
Maxtor LXT-8760-S, it would not stream (VERY slow) and would automatically
abort after few MB's.

The setup is now 3.0.1e, LXT-540-S, and Wangtek 6250.  It streams again,
so I'm happy (3.0h + other odd SCSI combination was the problem for me).
Oh yeah, it streams at about 5 MB per minute, pretty speedy...
