Well, the lights on the drive case came on and it made a nice little whirring
sound, but as far as getting the system to recognize it, no dice so far.

Most likely reason for this: I don't have a SCSI terminator for the other
port on the back of the drive. Time to go visit Micro Center.

So:

1) Is the lack of a terminator sufficient to make the drive unrecognizeable
to my GS, i.e. plugging one in could fix things? (As far as I know, I
have everything else set correctly -- SCSI ID 6, slot set to "Your Card",
     etc.)

2) Once I get the thing to recognize it, will Advanced Disk Utility be able
to determine the size of the disk when I try to partition it in (let's
say) 20MB chunks, or do I have to play trial-and-error to determine
     its capacity?

jeff. it's been a looooong time since I futzed with
				such peripherals...
