I recommend the glue gun, as the glue stays pliable and does not
become permanent.  I have used glue sticks for refilling ink
cartridges and plugging the hole on the bottom of the cartridge,
tightening screws that vibrate loose, covering solder joints to
protect from accidental shorting ... etc.

It simply is the best for working around electrical components.
