file types

I am having trouble converting text files I download to my apple //c to 
appleworks format so I can print them out.  I am using the program called 
change-a-file but It will not convert certain files.  Also is there any 
other way to print out text files without converting them and still using 
a full 80 columns?  If you have any advice, please e-mail.  Thanks.
