BASIC knows nothing about the IIgs's extra memory. As far as it is
concerned, you are running on a 64k IIe, and about 28k of the memory
space is occupied by the ROM, I/O space, BASIC.SYSTEM and other system
memory requirements.
If you get a "program too large" error when trying to launch the file,
my guess is that it is a binary file. You must have the filetype of
shk34.exe set to TXT, so that launching it will execute commands in
the file. If in doubt, use the EXEC command. If it says File Type
Mismatch, then you definitely have the wrong file type.
Where did this shk34.exe file come from? I'll be happy to have a
quick look at it if someone can point me at the right FTP site and
directory.
