Help with two GS games

Back around 1987 or so, I picked up the GS game "Tower of Myraglen". I played
it a few times, and then it mysteriously stopped working. Not being very
knowledgeable about GS/OS applications at the time, I gave it up for lost.
It wasn't until recently that I thought to dig it up and poke around the
Tower boot disk using the Finder. The disk seems to have been damaged, or
at least that's what the Finder tells me whenever I try to move or copy the
ProDOS file from the boot disk root directory. So, I tried copying all of
the other files to a blank disk, and adding a copy of the ProDOS file from
my system disk to the whole shebang. Now, when I try to boot from this disk,
I get the error "Unable to load START.GS.OS file -- Error $0046". I checked
back with the original Tower boot disk, and the file START.GS.OS is nowhere
to be found on it. Can anyone tell me what the heck is going on?

The other game I have a question about is "Defender of the Crown". In
particular, the jousting competition. In at least a few dozen jousts, I've
only managed to win one, and I'm not sure how I did it. The manual says to
aim for the center of the opponent's shield and press the mouse button just
before impact, which I've tried to do, but the lance is extremely difficult
to control. Is there some secret to it, or is this aspect of the gameplay
just poorly-designed?

And come to think of it, any pointers anyone could offer regarding the
swordfighting part of the game would also be greatly appreciated.
