Hmmmmm, you might lift off the key caps on the keys in question and
see if there's any dirt built up on the key posts. As for the monitor
you might consider scrounging around for a printer stand that will at
least let you scooch the CPU close to it.

NOAO huh? You might want to pull Nightfall II off of the Grind FTP
site (in the folder Airship Software) which is a relatively simple
astronomy program that runs just dandy on a IIc (i.e., a single
5.25" drive). There's a couple of other astronomy related programs
thre as well, but NF-II is a nice place to start.
