There are several UUencode and ZIP programs for the IIgs.
Look for GScii+ which is a NDA for the finder which UUencodes and
UUdecodes and AAunpacks very nicely.
(Alternate name for a similar program is Binscii but I recommend GScii)
GScii even has it's own variation of UUencoding which is neat for only
between IIgs's...

As for ZIP'ing, there are several Apple II programs available which will
un-ZIP IBM archives: For the GS there is PMP UnZIP and for 8bit II's
Angel081 is winderful... Angel can actually ZIP files but it's an old
version... 1.0 I think, but if you really need to, it does work.
