Now where are you getting this info from? Where's the benchmarks? A 486
can execute most of its instructions in around 1 cpu cycle. With a
32-bit bus, and quite sizeable instruction/data cache and real 32-bit
integer math operations, and lots of internal registers, a 20 Mhz 65816
would not even approach what the 486 can crunch.
