This reminds me of an article I read in A+ in 1988 or something.  In it, the 
author said something to the effect of all you can do to keep the II alive 
is to keep buying as much stuff for it as you can.
When the issue first came out, I thought this was a really stupid thing 
to say.  By the time 1992 rolled around, I was living by the idea.  It's 
amazing--the kind of foresight that guy had.  He said something that was 
nearly blasphemy at the time, but turned out to be so (unfortunately) true.
