Hmmm...typing "BIN" always seemed to work just fine for me.

In any case, by using ncftp, the default mode is set to binary,
making it much easier for newbies to do ftp downloads.

And, it's now possible to even download from some Apple II ftp sites
by using the world wide web. Just point your favorite www browser to
this URL:

        http://www.ccsf.caltech.edu/~dmz/a2archive.html

That'll bring you to cco and from there you'll find links to grind,
umich and several other large Apple II ftp sites. Thanks Daniel!
