In the past, I've posted questions concerning various problems
I've been experiencing with my AppleColor RGB monitor. Recently though,
I think I've finally narrowed down the source of the problem, or rather
one major problem causing the rest.
The entire screen (including border areas) has a kind of
yellowish-tint overlaying it. Almost as if a fine pale-yellow screen mesh
had been placed over the picture tube. The result is, colors seem to
be mixed with this yellow. Pure white has a kind of yellowish tone
to it, greyscales come up in shades of baige, blue turns out slightly
purple, etc. Another problem is the brightness is too low, I usually
have to let the screen warm up for quite awhile or else all is too dim.
This is really been annoying me lately, windows in the Finder look as
though they've been soiled yellow and the desktop is a blue-purple color!
..Does anyone know the cause of this "yellow" tint, or perhaps if it's
possible to get it fixed? The person who was going to sell me a replacement
RGB backed out, so now it seems I'm stuck with this one for the time being..
