Help! - ShrinkIt

Hello All.

I am a newbie and am trying to obtain Shrinkit.  I have found it both on 
wuarchive.wustl.edu and ftp.apple.com.  After ftp'ing I am using 
sciibin.  Afterwards however, they are not executable on my GS.  Would 
somebody please tell me what step I am leaving out?  

I also have tried using NuLib on the unix side (which I would prefer).  
Although when compiling I get the following errors:

"numain.c", line 17: cannot find include file: <strings.h>
cc: acomp failed for numain.c
*** Error code 2
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `numain.o'

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.
