This whole #Apple2GS/#appleiigs thing...

I've been reading this (and the many others) thread for some time, debating
whether or not to express my opinion. I've decided to give it, as an
"outsider" to the whole argument. My opinion is: "Get over it." If Rolf
wants to create his own GS-related channel on IRC, why complain? More
can't be bad, and it might actually benefit the GS community. If you don't
like the rules on his channel, you don't have to use it! In our democratic
society, the real freedom is being able to choose. Maybe now, people that
were turned off by #appleiigs's often loose attitude (don't get me wrong, I
don't mind it, but I'm sure that there are people out there that do) now have
another choice to turn to. If you want people to come to your channel, that's
fine, but teasing someone for acting like a "newbie", editing his .sig, etc.
when he tries to create something new is just childish. Stop acting like
spoiled children picking on a new baby brother and start acting like the
adults you are. The people that have been loyal to #appleiigs for so many
years will probably still go there, but at least people will have a choice.
I applaud Rolf for trying to forge new territory. See you on IRC! ;-)
