That goes ditto for me.  My apple 2 e system satisfies my need
to putter around and play with programs.  I have bought and 
accumulated many more programs than I have hadtime to explore
(yet).  I plan to get to all of them before the computer is
dead.  I get online at 9600 and can download at 38.4k.  My
80 meg HD can hold all the data files I need.  I bought my
kids newer computers so they can get educated to "real"
computers but I remain a steady user of my apple.  I keep saying
I'm going to get a chess database and use that on my pc-clone
but I'm still having fun on the apple.  I have been able to play
chess on the internet on my apple. It's not perfect but it works.
I'm sure I'll use this thing until I can no longer find spare 
parts!!
