NOT!

I purchased mine a couple months after it came out (can't rember the
year- '89?) and it has worked _flawlessly_ for me. Never have I had
one single problem with that drive. It's quick, and stable for me.

On the other hand, my SyQuest 44MB Removable (w/a Apple HS-SCSI) is
horrible. 20% of the ShrinkIt archives I've copied to it have become
corrupt after about a year. I just can't use it anymore...I copied my
Vulcan drive (System software & apps.) to an empty SyQuest and tried to
run my computer off of it, and all of a sudden, most all of my Art
folder was missing! I had copied my BBS file transfer dir's to my
Vulcan (because the SyQuest is so noisy- my BBS is from midnight-9am).
Luckily, I had most of my apps backed up on floppies...

I always keep the SyQuest cartridges in their protective cover and
never abuse them (like I abuse 3.5" 's :) ).
