APPLE FILE TRANSLATION QUESTION

I have a question about translation of files from APPLE IIe and APPLE IIc
to an IBM or MAC format...

My dad's church is in the process of transitioning to IBM from APPLE and
there's some challenges in the data transfer...

Question:  is there any way to transfer data easily from APPLE to IBM or
even MAC?  I'm wondering about save as possibilities or ASCII text...

Basically they're having to re-type some of the documents and I'm hoping
there's an easier way out there...appreciate any tips...
