Titan 'Accel //e' ?'s

IM>I have four 5.25" drives on my //e and when I have the Accelerator in,
IM>it doesn't make use of my second pair (in slot 4, but tried them in 5
IM>to make sure). Programs will acknowledge that there are drives in slot
IM>4 but all it will do is give them a quick spin as though they were
IM>empty (in other words, not recognising disk volumes). No doubt some
IM>jumper or dip will do something about that... right?

I don't know anything about the card that you have, but I run my BBS
with a 4MHz Zip Chip, and have discovered this:
If the slots containing drive cards (excluding SCSI HD cards) are NOT
set to "normal" speed (IE: 1MHz) then the drives will not function
properly, regardless of whether they are Unidisks, Duodisks, Disk IIs,
compatibles, or whether they are 3.5" or 5.25". I would suggest that
once you find software to configure your card that you change the speed
for the slots that have your drive cards...I'm betting that the
"default" is to have the slot that your first card is in at 1MHz, but
other slots are set at fast speed...Just a hunch...

Give what you would like to receive,
Glenn
