Sounds to me like that was a hack done by some jerk who wanted to make a
virus that could write to the disk even if the disk was
write-protected...Why the heck would someone want to do this in DOS?
Why not make a hardware switch instead, so that YOU could control when
it would/n't recognize write-protection? I know it's possible because I
knew a guy that did it...
