I've never used ProTerm, so I have no idea how it compares. (I mostly
used TIC before getting Spectrum).

The VT-100 emulation is still in text mode. The only attribute it
displays is inverse - colour change commands are ignored, as are bold,
underline, etc. Sometimes this is useful. For example, Z-Link
displays all colours, bold, underline and inverse attributes as
inverse, which makes it rather hard to see which link you have
selected in Lynx (WWW browser).

There is a problem with some of the screen editing VT-100 codes (used by
MicroEMACS on my Unix host) - the area below the cursor is frequently
scrambled when doing line inserts and deletes. I haven't tracked down
the exact cause yet, and it doesn't happen on my own BBS's full-screen
editor (which I wrote).

It is very slow in places, particularly when opening windows. Every
time you leave the desktop, it closes all the windows. When you
return to the desktop it opens them again, spending quite a while
generating a graphics representation of the data. If you have a large
file in the editor or the capture buffer is getting full, this gets
very annoying.

I'm looking forward to version 2.0. The current version is only just
usable.
