Even after a shift-boot I tend to have a lot of problems with Spectrum when
it comes to file transfers, and I always seem to end up with uneven screen
displays in ANSI emulation (which the local BBS which I access uses). By
uneven I mean individual screen lines are displaced. And I REALLY don't like
the pure text scrollback. It's pretty much useless when you're on a Unix or
ANSI system (which are what I use all the time).

I have recently discovered, and purchased, ANSITerm from PMP. Quite simply,
it's brilliant (IMHO). Although it's not a desktop program (perhaps its only
drawback) it works flawlessly, with full colour ANSI scrollback, special
character and colour support in VT100, the lot. Its user interface is a
little more clumsy than ProTERM's perhaps, and it's not mouse driven, so
I'd put them about equal, feature for feature. But that's just me. :-)
