Just a hunch here Gary,
Are you trying to download the files to a Mac first then transfer them to
your GS. I have found that when accessing ftp sites with my Mac at work,
I cannot download .shk (binary) files. I have tried a couple of ftp
programs on the Mac (Fetch, Versaterm Pro) making sure they are set to
binary mode, and the files still arrive trashed. I can however download
them no problem through an account I have on a UNIX box (getting them off
there and onto my //e at home is another problem). So if you have been
downloading with a Mac as an intermediate step, then this may be the
problem, although I don't know nearly enough to be able to explain it.
Just a thought.
