Not for a RAMFast. There are other programs which can format a SCSI
hard drive on an Apple SCSI card. In any case, if the RAMFast
software and GS/OS are both reporting I/O errors when trying to format
the drive, it is quite likely that there is something wrong with the drive.
The other possibility is SCSI termination. Check you have the bus
terminated properly: either the last drive should have an internal
terminator, or an external terminator should be connected after it.
At least one device must be supplying terminator power. This can be
the computer (the RAMFast has a switch for this, I think), or any of
the drives. If the computer is the only source of terminator power,
it may not be able to supply enough power to properly terminate the bus.
If everythings seems OK, try rearranging the order of the drives.
Also try removing all drives except the one you are trying to format.
If nothing works, you probably have a faulty drive.
