As someone who recently came back to Apple IIgs, after being away for
nearly 20 years, my experience with trying to catch up/find old info/
stay current are:

1. the Rubywand faq are awesome! I found great info on how to repair
the System Saver GS (new and improved fan upgraded).
2. the faqs can be out of date: vendors no longer exist (e.g.
Alltech's site on Apple II stuff doesn't appear to exist anymore).
3. searching c.s.a2 was extremely helpful, I was able to track down
RamFast rom version info (floptical compatibility), find floptical
driver for the Apple HS SCSI card, etc.
4. Finding new vendors was mostly through word of mouth/old posts:
ultimateapple2, reactivemicro, etc.
5. The oldies are still around: a2central, apple2.org, etc., and those
helped!
6. taking the time to read c.s.a2 in reverse chronological order
helped greatly, to see what's been going on recently, new hardware
being worked on/available, etc.

So I think having a concise and current FAQ would be awesome,
supplemented with the behemoth FAQ.
