Yes, I know that. BinSCII has several advantages, including:
- It is slightly more efficient than UUENCODE.
- You don't need to reassemble split files by hand.
- You don't need to get the parts in the right order.
- It retains ProDOS directory information.
All of these are good reasons for using BinSCII for Apple II specific
files, whether they are for general Apple IIs or are IIgs specific.
The only valid reason I can see for using UUENCODE for Apple II
postings is if the files are not specific to the Apple II family (e.g.
GIFs, or general purpose text files that have been compressed using a
widely available method such as ZIP, ZOO, ARC, etc.)

I hear that there is a ProDOS-8 UUDECODE program (UU.11, or something
like that) but I haven't seen it.
