Sure. First a clarification, it is a little known technical fact that
there are no "RGB" monitors out there. Everybody who's ever seen a Ziplock
(tm) commercial knows that yellow and blue make green.
So why the deception? Back at the Begining, there were two nuts in a
cluttered garage, and they made the Apple. And it was good. But the Users
desired Color, and were willing to pay for it. Thus came the Age of Colors
(tm). But the accursed Censors - beings banished to realm known as
Teletype for various sins against the IF/THEN Cabal - did note that the
Biblical references were getting out of the proverbial hand. "Verily,"
they said, "there already exists the Apple. And rumors from the land of
Commodore tell of a creature known as A.D.A.M." And after much debate, it
was concluded that the monitor, though properly known as a "Red-Yellow-
Blue monitor" could become known as the "rib". Thus opening the door wide
for the creation of a product known as "E.V.E." which would lead to the
utter destruction of Cyberspace as we know it.
The Creators, being the wise souls that they were, decided that would be a
bad thing. And thus resorted to trickery, designing a monitor that was
actually a RYB, but labeled as RGB. This was furthered by the announcement
of a new technology which split green into its component colors (yellow
and blue) thus eliminating a good amount of circuitry. Alas, the solution
was not as easy as that. There remained the problem of how to explain the
extra - supposedly unnecessary - gun. But, lo! The Device of Incandescence
did offer up the solution thus: "It has been found that the spectro-
graphic-split process consumes a portion of the blue wavelength during the
conversion process, and that a blue gun is needed after all. However, on
the good side, the split-and-add-a-low-power-blue-gun process consumes
less power than the RYB monitor." And the Environmentalists did convince
the Beelzebub, er, Bureaucracy that such was a good thing. And so, it was
made Law.
And it was seen to that A.D.A.M. was slain. Its body cremated, and the
ashes thoroughly consumed in the center of the nuclear reactor at Three
Mile Island. (Which caused only a few minor problems.)
And so it is that the RYB can not be taken from A.D.A.M. giving rise to
the evil E.V.E. creature who will use the Apple to destroy Cyberspace.
And all is WELL.
