Upgrading a Transwarp?

I've seen a few messages on the Zip accelerator and finally remembered to 
ask a question I'd been curious about...

I have a Transwarp. Its several years old. I've noted that it has what 
would appear to be a socket on it for plugging in something, possibly RAM 
or maybe a speed enhancer? Did AE ever make their "addition" before they 
stopped making cards for the II line? And if so, what did it do?
