I thought I might, for a moment, but then I read on: the little gem
I stumbled upon in the storage locker yesterday was the one you got
from Michael.

Back in the late 1970s, there was a company called S.D. Sales in (I
think) Texas. They produced all manner of oddball kits for the ham and
computer hobbyist market. One of them was an AY-3-8910 board. I never
bought one, but I got a couple of their other kits, and they tended to
have lots of good info in their documentation. I remember reading about
"extensive app notes" in their ads (I reallyreally wanted one, but the
Cosmac Elf got to my wallet first...).

Maybe someone who reads this will remember having one stashed away
somewhere.

Meanwhile, I recall reading somewhere that bell sounds are best done
with triangle waves, which I think is something the 8910 can do.
