Hiya Lurch!
          Thanks for the reply. The drive I'm using is a Q Drive 60 and it's
the only device on the chain. You're right about Copy II+ and GSOS volumes. I
forgot. Ack! However, when I'm fishing sometimes an 8-bit application will
find stuff that GS applications won't. Sometimes I think they're more robust
and less finicky. Where a GS application will just "bink!" and fall into the
monitor an 8-bit will survive long enough to give me the error. I wish I
could check the terminator, but it's internally terminated and there's no
access door on the case. There are two screws that are temtping me mightily,
but the drive is still under warrantly, so I'll refrain. I talked at length
with Quality Computers and they were very helpful, but we ended up at the
same conclusion, time to send it back. Meanwhile I'm back running off a RAM
disk :)
