New to Apple //E, pointer to faq?

Hi,

I just aquired an Apple //e system (with Monitor and two 5 1/2 drives)
and since I am totaly new to the Apple II world, I dont know what to do
with it.

I have a list of FTP sites for downloading software, but I need at least
to get started. How do I load in the software and execute it? How do I get to
its BASIC for the ] prompt? By pressing the dark apple key, I get to the *
prompt. What do the two mean?

I would appreciate any help in getting started. If there is a FAQ, please
point me to it, or better yet, please e-mail it to me.
