Right now the Apple CD300(+) is the only drive that hasn't any drawbacks
- besides its price. :)
Most other drives either have lousy drivers, do not work at all, are
designed to be portable audio drives and spin down after 30 seconds
(ARGH! Hands away from Reno drives) or are too slow.
Note that I haven't tried any CD-ROM drives on a GS. However, I tried
very hard to find the best CD ROM drive for a Mac, and I'd bet the
platform doesn't matter in this case.
